We can do better

We’re in the middle of a snowstorm of activity at work right now, gearing up for a very large number of Impact Assessments on budget proposals of the future. We’ve had some difficulty in the past getting these done because people think they’re pointless bureaucracy with no useful function. After some painful and embarrassing legal challenges this is beginning to change. And, right on cue, here’s this lovely article that for me encapsulates exactly what Impact Assessments should do.

What, a Braille book? No. A book that more people can read. It takes a good product, and with one small change makes it even better for virtually no cost. How was this magic achieved? By saying, during the design stage, “how could we make this even better?”

It’s that simple. Seriously.
